Privacy Policy
Dark Room is a free trading mentorship community. This page explains what this website collects, why, and how to have it removed. In short: no ads, no analytics or tracking cookies, nothing is sold, and your trading journal is visible only to you.
Who we are
This website, dkrm.club, is run by the Dark Room team. For any privacy question or request, email hello@dkrm.club.
Browsing the site
You can read the homepage and market updates without an account. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard short-term server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to run and protect the site.
Logging in to the Trading Journal
The journal uses Log in with Discord. You approve the login on discord.com, and we only ask Discord for two permissions:
- identify: your Discord user ID, username, display name and avatar.
- guilds.members.read: your member record in the Dark Room server only, which tells us your server nickname and whether you have the Active Traders role.
We never see your Discord password or email address, we can't read your messages, servers or friends, and we can't post or do anything as you. You can remove Dark Room's access any time in Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps.
Cookies
- dr_session: keeps you logged in to the journal for up to 30 days. It is encrypted and can't be read by scripts on the page. It holds your Discord ID, name, avatar, role status and the Discord access tokens we use to re-check your Active Traders role once a day. Logging out deletes it.
- dr_oauth: a random value that protects the login against forgery. It lasts at most 10 minutes and is deleted when you return from Discord.
These are strictly necessary for the journal to work. There are no other cookies.
Your journal data
Trades, notes, tags and chart screenshots you add are stored in private storage on Vercel, filed under your Discord user ID. Only your logged-in session can read or change them. We don't sell, share or analyse them, and the team only looks at them if you ask for help or to fix a technical problem.
You can edit or delete any trade at any time, and export everything as CSV. To delete all of your journal data, email hello@dkrm.club from any address and include your Discord username; we'll confirm through Discord before deleting.
Alerts
If you turn on alerts, your browser gives us a push subscription (an anonymous delivery address and keys) and the topics you picked. It isn't linked to your name or Discord account. Turn alerts off in the Alerts panel or in your browser settings and the subscription is removed.
Other services
- Discord: login and our community. Discord's own privacy policy applies there.
- Vercel: hosting and storage.
- Google Fonts: your browser loads the site's fonts from Google.
- Binance public market data: your browser fetches live prices directly. No account or personal data is involved.
- Partner links: the exchange links on the homepage are referral links. If you sign up, that exchange's privacy policy applies.
How long we keep data
Journal data stays until you delete it or ask us to. Login cookies expire after 30 days. Alert subscriptions are removed when you turn alerts off or when your browser stops accepting them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at any time by emailing hello@dkrm.club. Dark Room is meant for adults (18+).
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and post the change in the Dark Room Discord.
